The story of how this Colombian bride met her groom is truly a fairy tale – an unlikely encounter in an unlikely place.
Claudia was born in Colombia and later moved to New York where she settled down and started working. On a fateful trip to Miami with her girlfriends, at a pool party of all places, Claudia met Sumit. After this first encounter, their love story continued to unfold.
Sumit, born and raised in Montreal, had been living in Calgary at the time he met Claudia. It didn’t take long before Claudia had also moved out to Calgary.
Claudia and Sumit were a fantastic couple to work with. They showed a tremendous amount of trust in me as a photographer and their willing attitude to trying my ideas was the perfect space to explore my creativity. This willingness and great attitude was echoed in their fantastic wedding party – one of the largest we’ve seen to date, and always ready to party!
Catholic Wedding Ceremony
Their extravagant wedding affair started with their Catholic wedding ceremony at the Roman Catholic Basilica, Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde, in Montreal. Immediately following the ceremony, we loaded the wedding party on their party bus and head over to Old Port Montreal for some classic wedding photographs.
Hindu Wedding Ceremony
The Hindu wedding ceremony was held the next day at the Crowne Plaza in Montreal. Claudia adopted an Indian persona in a bright pink princess lehenga.
Wedding Reception
The celebrations continued at the Crowne plaza as it was transformed from a Hindu mandap to the reception hall. Complete with a bhangra dance performance by the Montreal Bhangra Academy and amazing food catered by Tandoori Bellevue. This wedding reception was the place to be! DJ Kuldip Mix Singh pumped great tunes all night and the guests kept dancing!
We thank Claudia and Sumit for their trust and their appreciation in our work. And we wish them the very best as they start their new life together as husband and wife in Vancouver, BC!
