We were so excited to be back in Chicago to shoot Ravi and Nitasha’s Chicago Indian wedding. We did their engagement shoot in Toronto and the whole process was so organic and laid back. This experience gave us confidence that the wedding was also going to be easy going with this couple. This couple is one of our favourite clients, now friends, to work with because they trusted us throughout the process.
Nitasha’s whole family was so welcoming at their house the day before their wedding. We checked into the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, this Chicago Indian wedding venue. This iconic building is right next to Chicago’s main airport and was so convenient for all the guests.

Morning of this Chicago Indian Wedding
Nitasha was almost ready in her suite when we got there. She looked beautiful in a traditional red Indian wedding outfit. One thing Nitasha mentioned was that she is super close to her dog. When the bride and groom mentioned that someone or something is important to them, we try our best to capture that. Nitasha’s dog was supposed to be part of the ceremony, so we wanted to capture that moment with her and her dog.

On the other end, Ravi and his family were getting ready for this big day. Ravi’s side had traditional Gujrati rituals performed during his getting ready time. The horse was ready and here we had Ravi ready to start the baraat. With two dhols, energized family members, Ravi’s baraat was ready to dance.

We made our way to the main entrance of the Hyatt Regency Grand Ballroom where fresh pink flowers and a gorgeous mandap was setup by Dream Occasions Chicago. Hyatt Regency O’Hare team was ready to start this beautiful ceremony.
Chicago Indian Wedding Ceremony Begins
This beautiful ceremony was about to begin as pandit ji invited both parents. After the Groom’s pooja was completed, the bride was invited to the mandap. The bride, with a big smile, walked down the aisle adorned with fresh roses and candles. This is when Nitasha is going to see her husband-to-be for the first time as a groom. As the curtain dropped between them, you could their faces light up from excitement.

This Gujrati ceremony was started right away with Pandit ji inviting the bride’s brothers for the pheras. Couple went around the holy fire at Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago in holy matrimony and then the priest introduced us to this newly married couple. The crowd was overjoyed to see these two get married. Right after the ceremony we went to do the couple’s portraits in the Hyatt Regency property while the guests enjoyed lunch from Ravi Rawat Bombay Bowl catering.

Chicago Grand Indian Wedding Send Off
Right outside this beautiful Chicago hotel stood a regal horse carriage, waiting for the bride and groom. Nitasha wanted the Doli to be a joyful; guests blew bubbles into the air creating a romantic atmosphere as the couple walked to their carriage. This is one of the best parts of the day as it was filled with joy and happiness.

Chicago Grand Indian Reception at the Hyatt Regency
Guests were then ushered to the beautiful Chicago Hyatt Grand Ballroom. Again, Dream Occasions Chicago did an amazing job with this lavish Indian Wedding setup. Fresh flowers, candles and modern candelabras were giving this Indian reception a elaborate look.
Couple was ready and looking dashing for their reception photoshoot. Ravi looked like Indian James Bond in his Tuxedo. Nitasha was looking beautiful in a silver lengha. Reception cocktail was set on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency O’Hare which gave breathtaking views of the Chicago sunset.

Emcee asked everyone to join hands to welcome this couple. Energy in the room was ecstatic. Ravi and Nitasha were shining through the crowd. Right after their entrance, we had some special speeches by both sides of the family and friends. Following the speeches, the couple’s first dance as Mr and Mrs took place. This couple loves to dance; the first dance had a touch of Punjabi music which made it very special.

After all that, the newlyweds, family and friends were ready to hit the dance floor to dance the night away!
We thank Nitasha and Ravi for having us come to Chicago and be part of their celebration at their Chicago Indian wedding.

Here is Nitasha’s Google Review –
Breathtaking. That is the word that comes to mind when I think of Alfaaz Photography. My husband and I are still amazed by how perfectly Anmol and his team were able to capture our wedding weekend through their lens.
We cannot say enough about how happy we are that we booked Alfaaz to capture one of the most important days of our lives. My husband I knew from the very beginning of wedding planning that photography was one of the most important elements to us because at the end of the day the photos and videos are what we can look back on throughout our life to remember our special day. As such, we had an ideal vision for what we wanted— artistic photographs that captured the essence of our wedding beautifully, as well as the traditional shots with our family and friends that we could cherish forever. We also knew that we wanted to enjoy working with our photographer. Anmol became part of our family and we truly were blessed to work with someone so talented.
Anmol fit this vision perfectly. He made us feel very comfortable right from the beginning during our engagement shoot and was very accommodating. (He did our shoot in -11 degree weather, without complaint, and treated us to hot chocolate after!) We truly had fun taking photographs with Anmol because he is a kind hearted and genuine person who simply loves what he does. Anmol’s passion for photography is undeniable when you are around him and that passion is reflected in his stunning photographs. He goes above and beyond to capture the uniqueness and beauty of each wedding.
We are unbelievably thankful that we can re-live our wedding weekend through the breathtaking photographs Anmol has taken along with his team. Don’t look twice, don’t ask questions, book Alfaaz Photography.
