Words from the Bride
What the bride enjoyed most about planning her dream day:
“I enjoyed the bonding with my parents, bridesmaids and husband. We worked on a lot of arts and crafts, a lot of small details and spent a lot of time together. It definitely brought all of us closer.”
On choosing her lengha:
“The morning lengha was a Sabyasachi design from Mumbai. I always wanted to wear hot pink for my ceremony which took a bit of convincing with my prince charming, as he also ended up wearing hot pink!”
The bride on meeting her Prince charming:
“I met my prince charming in 2012 through friends. As soon as our eyes met and he smiled, I got that feeling (you know that happy sparkly feeling!). I knew he was the one when he asked to go on a date which involved Starbucks and aimlessly walking around a downtown street to take in the architecture and vibe… something we still do today! I have always been a hopeless -Bollywood and Disney Fairytale- romantic and after meeting him, I realized that the feeling Cinderella got when the slipper fit and Sleeping Beauty when she opened her eyes, does really happen in real life!”
On the proposal:
“Our proposal took place at beautiful scenic waterfall. Because of my love for fairytales, it only made sense to be proposed in a mystical forested area. The actual proposal happened on a suspension bridge, without a ring though. He proposed with a Pandora charm because he was too scared to drop the ring in the water. The pink sapphire came later that day during a musical we attended!”

The bride on her reception look:
“The inspiration for my reception lengha was Cinderella’s wedding gown! I worked with a designer from Millionaire Mumbai to create a customized outfit. I literally showed him a photo of Cinderella’s wedding gown and asked how I could put an Indian twist on it. I wanted it one sided with a duppati attached to it with lots and lots of glitter. It turned out just as I imagined. Lots of swarovski crystals and just the right amount of shimmer I was looking for.”
