Lavish Oakville Wedding from a Wedding Planner’s Perspective

This truly glamorous big fat Indian lavish wedding was one spectacle in Oakville.  This Hindu wedding was one grand affair with a touch of royalty.

We had a pleasure working with one of the best in the industry SAWC Planners. Neha from SAWC was involved in the planning process for more than 18 months. We invited Neha to be our guest blogger to get a wedding planner’s perspective.

Lavish Oakville Wedding by SAWC Planners

We are thrilled to share Sameera and Amit’s stunning out of this world wedding with you! The big wedding was planned from start to finish by SAWC Planners. Our lavish complete planning package was the perfect fit for this occasion. The planning process began 18 months before the wedding day.

The bride’s father, acclaimed Oakville-based dentist Dr. Vineet Bhandari, had a very hands-on involvement throughout the planning process. He came to us with a vision of giving his little girl the wedding of her dreams from our very first meeting. The inspirational board which truly helped us get going. There were so many amazing details in this wedding that we’ve lost count of each of them!

If we had to describe them in one word – it would be “Mansion!” Sameera always wanted to get married at a mansion so it was all about creating a majestic, luxurious wedding and focusing on all the little expensive details. Take a look at the amazing pictures from the 2-day lavish wedding from Oakville Conference Centre.

Since the groom, his family and guests were coming from California, the bride wanted them to feel at home and plan for an outdoor wedding.

Although originally from India, the groom and his family have spent most of their lives in California. The fact that they have been living in the US for so long didn’t stop them from making the wedding a traditional affair with all those little details that make weddings so special.

For the pre-wedding haldi or maiya ceremony for Amit, his family created a vehra which is a typical village scene in Punjab. The family did the decorations themselves and their attention to detail blew us away! Friends and family had a great time engaging in traditional rituals on Amit at his intimate and love filled ceremony.

We photographed Amit’s getting ready images in this Vehra with his family. Amit was jumping around as pagg tying guys were getting turbans and just see how happy these fellas are.

Sameera rocked the unconventional bride by choosing to go without a dupatta over the head for the wedding ceremony. Sameera’s glamorous ceremony outfit was from Bombay Trendz and dolled by Lesonne Bridals Team.

Daddy’s little princess was getting married and this photograph showcases the perfect daddy-daughter moment at their Oakville house just before they left for the ceremony.

First Look at a Grand Oakville Mansion

This couple wanted to remember that very moment when they saw each other for the first time. Since it was an afternoon ceremony leading to cocktail hour, the best way to photograph the first look was before the ceremony.

Alfaaz Photography organized the first look at the Mansion in Oakville. This custom built house is one of the most iconic properties in Oakville. Mr Bandhari’s friend offered his house for Sameera and Amit’s wedding pictures.

We remember Sameera walked to our groom along with her bridesmaids and Amit’s expressions when they saw each other are just priceless. We have this beautiful couple with their bridal party in that typical Sabyasachi look. Alfaaz Team did such a great job photographing the Royal look as requested by our couple.

Lavish Indian Oakville Wedding Ceremony.

Californians know how to party as the energy on the groom’s side was contagious. Even rain could not stop them at all. Amit rode to the house outside Oakville Conference Centre with the Band Baja and Dhol baraat.

You can see how competitive both sides were on the Milni and nothing explains this better than this image.

THERE ALWAYS HAS TO BE A PLAN B for Indian Weddings

This ceremony was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony, but since it was raining the ceremony was moved inside. Oakville Conference Centre is one venue which offers you all. They have an outdoor gazebo and even their reception venue has a lighted skydome adding natural light throughout the venue.

Even though it was an indoor ceremony, Dream Party Decor did an exceptional job keeping the mood very bright and airy.

Sameera walked in with her family as Amit excitedly waited for his bride. You can see tears in their eyes. This was one very well explained ceremony by our officiant of the day. As Hindu Ceremonies tend to be longer, entertainment by Sahil Khan, kept everyone engaged with his flute tunes.

Soon, Sameera and Amit were going around the holy fire and were announced husband and wife at Oakville Conference Centre with showers of cheers and rose petals from family. Amit did not see that coming at all.

Indian Lavish Affair Reception

The reception was designed keeping in mind the mansion theme. Oakville Conference Centre was the venue of choice and it was Dream Party Décor who brought Sameera’s vision to life. Known for being able to completely transform spaces, Dream Party Décor was the perfect choice for the stylish look. It was very difficult to find a mansion-like wedding venue in Toronto and the GTA that would be able to accommodate 400 people. So the couple booked a plain banquet hall and transformed the space. Just look at that stage! These gold pillars to water fountains – it was one  lavish affair crafted with perfection by Dream Party Decor.

The florals were provided by Lemon Truffle Designs! There were fresh floral centerpieces at every table and a really sweet gesture was that the guests could take the flowers home with them. And who wouldn’t want this gorgeous bunch?

The cocktail hour at the reception was the perfect time for guests to mix and mingle while enjoying delicious food, drinks and entertainment. There was an antipasto bar with many scrumptious items and was followed by a 4-course meal.

All catering was provided by the Oakville Conference Centre PeterandPauls Event Catering and the gorgeous wedding cake was provided by Fine Cakes by Zehra. Take a look at the irresistible pictures below:

Our emcee of the night famous Chris Mei announced the bridal party. Tuxed up Amit and Sameera dazzled in their reception outfits, walked right in to join their lavish reception. This bridal outfit from the New Delhi Company flared the room as Sameera did a big spin. Sameera fell in love with her reception outfit the moment she saw it.  We saw her on the day she got her outfit and we knew she had made the right choice.

Sameera accessorized the outfit beautifully with Banglez jewelry and we love that adorable way Lesonne Bridals styled her hair.

She really looked every bit the princess she imagined herself to be on her wedding day! Speeches were highly emotional and touching and Alfaaz Photography captures the bond of brotherhood in this photography.

Then, the couple took stage for their lively first dance as Mr & Mrs.

The most touching moment of the wedding was the father-daughter dance. Dr. Bhandari was a proud and emotional father and they shared the memorable moment dancing to Josh Groban’s beautiful track, You Raise Me Up. (We’re not crying, you’re crying!)

There was a Big Blox ballet performance and the bride and groom added a bollywood touch. Finally, we had the couple’s first dance to John Legend’s All Of Me.

People were fed by a serious 4-course meal and it was time to burn those calories. Empire Entertainment alongside a live band opened the dance floor. Everyone was on the dance floor and this party lasted till late night.

After wrapping up this lavish Indian affair in Oakville which we have been planning for the last 18 months, it was a very satisfying feeling. We absolutely believe having a reliable vendor team along with you on a Indian Wedding is probably the most important thing.
