Getting Ready for Sikh Wedding at Moon Palace Cancun
Getting Ready
The day started with Jag getting his turban tied and Lisa getting final touches of makeup by Shirley Wu. The Beauty Concepts team has been in the industry for years. The experience Shirley carries with her is just an asset for any Indian bride. Lisa wore a beautiful red gown by Amara Couture.

Ceremony Setting
We started our day at the beach. Two of the main reasons why we want to showcase this wedding: the venue and beautiful Mexican sunrise.

Lucid Films, one of the most experienced and finest videographers in Toronto Indian wedding industry was with us. Kamm also carries years of experience in cinematography which helps us as photographers push our creative boundaries.
Sun was rising out of the ocean as we had Lisa enjoy this surreal view on the morning of her Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico. Unfortunately, if you are planning for a perfect beach sunset, you will not get that a Moon Palace Cancun since the sun rises from the water.

Lisa’s mother joined us to help with her daughter’s dupatta and on the other side, Jag’s dad helped him with his turban.

Photographing alongside the refreshing beach and beautiful light at the Moon Palace Cancun was a great experience.
Baraat at Moon Palace Cancun
The groomsmen were ready so was the music. Groom with his family gathered just outside the oceanfront Gazebo for their baraat. Dancing through the palm trees with the ocean breeze, Jag and his family were at the wedding venue.

Sikh Ceremony Begins at Moon Palace Cancun

Our priest from Toronto was ready to conduct the Sikh ceremony at the Moon Palace beach facing the oceanfront gazebo. The groom was patiently waiting for his bride to walk in the ceremony. Bride approached the beautiful pure white gazebo wearing a red lengha. We were so excited to capture their excitement as they looked at each other for the very first time on the wedding day.

Baba Ji from Toronto started the ceremonial rituals and kirtan at Moon Palace Cancun. The couple as per Sikh wedding rituals went around the Sikh holy book four times before they were declared husband and wife.
Comfort at Moon Palace Cancun
From our experience of photographing beach Indian weddings in Dominican, Mexico and Florida; it can get very hot. Moon Palace gazebo gives you the comfort of getting married under an air-conditioned setting while enjoying the views of palm trees and the ocean.

Most Indian Hindu and Sikh ceremonies last for about an hour. Sitting under the Mexican sun on the beach, with Indian attire, can become uncomfortable. When you are planning a wedding ceremony at the beach, keep the heat in mind. Look into paper umbrellas or parasols to make sure your guests are covered and so are you from the direct sunlight.

Lunch is Served at Moon Palace Cancun
After the Sikh wedding ceremony was completed, we took our couple for some images highlighting the beautiful property of Moon Palace. While guests enjoyed a fine gourmet Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico meal at the beach.

Gujarati Hindu Wedding Begins at Moon Palace Cancun
Bride Getting Ready
The bride changed her outfit, hair and makeup in less than ninety minutes for the Gujarati Hindu wedding ceremony. Shirley Wu’s years of experience really came in hand transforming our bride into a completely other look in such a short time.

Ceremony Planning
Hindu ceremony was held at the beach and iRock’s team was ready to welcome the guests once again. A canopy was ready for the pandit ji who also traveled from Toronto to conduct the Hindu ceremony. Like we mentioned earlier, nothing is impossible for Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico clients to have at Moon Palace.

Ceremony Setting
Gujarati wedding rituals begin at the beach as the bride’s mom welcomed the groom at the mandap. The mandap was facing the beautiful gardens of Moon Palace and set behind the deep blue ocean.

Pandit Ji started the ceremony with Jag and requested Dj KSquare’s team to play something special as our bride made her entrance to her Hindu beach ceremony.
Bride’s Entrance
Everyone’s heads turned for a chance to get a glimpse of the stunning bride dressed in reds from Amara Couture and adorned with a Gujarati style dupatta. Lisa walked in along with her four bridesmaids.

First Look
Jag face was covered as Lisa walked in the mandip. This a Gujarati tradition, dating back 1000 years, where the bride and groom would see each for the first time at this moment.

Jag smiled with eyes as brothers took down the curtain. Everyone at the beach was enjoying this traditional Gujarati wedding at Moon Palace Cancun. Not only the guests but also the bystanders at the beach were curious to witness this Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico.

Pandit Ji started the puja to unite the couple. The bride had a charming smile on her face throughout the wedding. When the couple started to go around the holy fire, the families showered them with fresh flower petals.

Pandit Ji announced this couple married as per the Hindu wedding rituals. Moon palace witnessed another joyful Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico.
Post-Ceremony Photoshoot
We did some portraits with the couple before the doli rituals started. As a photographer, especially, at the destination weddings, you need to be quick as the heat on the beach will get your couple tired before you know it.

This ability to get those 10 creative images and 10 traditional images at an Indian wedding in Cancun Mexico within 30 minutes is a skill that took us years to develop.
Reception at The Moon Palace Grand Cancun
After two outdoor ceremonies the day before, the couple also decided to have their reception outdoors. Deepa from iRock Weddings/Hype Travel was definitely happy as the weather gods were supporting these outdoor plans. Deepa, Kenya and the whole staff at Moon Palace did an exceptional job creating this experience for the couple.
Getting Ready
Moon Palace Grand beachfront was the venue for the Reception. Shirley Wu from TheBeauty Concepts had the couple ready on time. We had about 45 minutes for portraits. Moon Palace Grand has some exceptional locations. Since we used the beach for ceremony day for pictures, we decided to walk around with the couple at the Grand Moon Palace to find some creative images.

Reception Planning & Setting

Meanwhile, iRock Weddings/Hype Travel and the Moon Palace staff were getting the reception outdoor venue ready. If you are thinking of an outdoor reception at the resort, be mindful it will need to be concluded by 10:30pm or 11pm to be respectful of the other guests around the venue.
NOTE – Most receptions start at 5:30pm at Moon Palace Cancun to ensure couples have enough time to enjoy before the 11pm cut off time.

Our program started with some speeches by family and a very special video from Lucid Films. Right after dinner was served.

When in Mexico, tequila can definitely help kick off the partying. DJ KSquare made sure to get this group dance the night away.

At the end of the night, the couple wanted to have a sparkler exit. Our planning team lined up everyone for this magical sparkler exit. This officially marked the end of the wedding rituals here in Mexico.
